191. Words Falls
i.
haven’t the time to work on it today
haven’t had
haven’t found
haven’t made
seems like a misfortune
to lose one’s grasp of time
find myself in a state of elusion
as if
previously lost
there
find myself in a state of allusion
as if
words only
referred
to something
else
would find myself in a state of illusion
but even
the imagined
is real
Words Falls
tumbl’d
aerated
filled w/
a sense
of fallen
already fallen
the falling
is the fallen
before we finish
thinking of the fall
ii.
didn’t really think about it
hadn’t
couldn’t
wouldn’t
that was all in the past
we were all once in the past
remembered it fondly
because it had been so carefully
forgotten into perfection
nothing unthought is not unforgotten
iii.
hadn’t had a chance to get to it
didn’t
didn’t
didn’t
ways of speaking
inhabit the ways
of not doing it all
leaving it undone
like a knot that no longer exists
reality has come in cold and wet
and raining down upon us as we go
driving through Syracuse yesterday
in the rain I didn’t remember
the rain that was falling as I drove
I remembered the snow accumulated
even the delicate fringes of a light snow
I remembered the winter
we had many of those
when we were younger
and they took up much of our time
with sliding down or piling up
now all we have is summer
because
we want to grasp
with both hands
the beating watery heart of the earth
haven’t the time to work on it today
haven’t had
haven’t found
haven’t made
